The Chinese Garden of Serenity.
A Tranquil Oriental Retreat

Chinese Garden of Serenity

Escape to the tranquil Santa Lucija Chinese Garden, a hidden gem that transports you to the enchanting world of the Far East. This beautifully landscaped oasis, tucked away in Santa Lucija village, offers a serene retreat adorned with traditional Chinese architecture and meticulous gardens.

The “Serenity Garden” in Santa Luċija is similar to other Chinese gardens in that it symbolises life, from birth to death. Take a leisurely stroll along its paths. starting from the fountain at the entrance to the garden which is the figure of birth, with the mother symbolised by the water in the background. The rest of one's life is all represented by different areas and elements of the garden, a straight path (a life with no issues) against a serpentine path (adventurous, dangerous), the word WU inscribed on one side of a welcoming portico (wonders of life), "The Pleasures of Heaven" inscription next to rocks (Heavens).

There is much to read into and I'm not sure the interpretation above is spot-on but I was happy simply admiring the vibrant flowers and delicate trees. Like me, you'll find solace just sitting next to the tranquil ponds and not thinking of anything much. The Santa Lucija Chinese Garden is a hidden sanctuary where you can immerse yourself in the serenity and beauty of an Oriental escape away from the traffic and the bustling life elsewhere.
