To make our website as informative as possible, we are including some of the questions posed to us. It's a bit like the small print, only bigger. If there's anything we haven't covered, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Q1. What is Indulgence Divine?
Indulgence Divine is a boutique accommodation in Malta for two situated right in the middle of a living city that is actually more like a small town. Indulgence Divine is for those who are intrigued by history and who lust after design, for those who appreciate Murano glass and good wine. It is also perfect as a romantic and relaxing escape.
Q2. What isn't it?
Indulgence Divine is not a hotel. Although we'd like to think it's as sumptuous as the best of hotels, glacial perfection is not what we're after. The accommodation has got character in abundance and resides within a 16th century building with all the challenges that such a home presents. Indulgence Divine is not ideal for those who would rather sit around a swimming pool than lose themselves in the winding roads of a legendary maritime city.
Q3. What are Indulgence Divine's Eco-Credentials?
While de-stressing in the beautiful surroundings of this holiday let you'll be glad to hear that sustainability was part and parcel of our eco design. Solar panels, roof insulation and ventilation were introduced to reduce the carbon footprint whilst provision was made to harvest and re-use rainwater. We actively encourage our guests to follow suit by supporting independent local shops and to be conscious of the importance of saving water and energy. EPC certificate available on request.
Q4. Do you provide airport transfers?
At the start of your stay, for a fee, we can have a taxi meet you at the airport and take you to Indulgence Divine. This means you won't have to wait for a taxi and your driver knows the way to the house and won't get lost. You'll need to choose this option at booking stage.
Q5. Does Indulgence Divine have AC and heating?
Yes. Air conditioning is available on a pay-per-use (card meter) system. €5.00 value cards are available for you to purchase at the house. Insulation in the roof and double glazed windows have been retrofitted so as to minimise energy consumption. The A/C also includes heat mode. However this is an old stone house so please do not expect the energy efficiency of a newly built house.
Q6. Why do you require a minimum stay of 3 nights?
The expenses involved in making sure you have an excellent stay would increase the rates considerably, were we to accept shorter stays. However, we do sometimes have special offers for shorter stays so look out for them on our booking system.
Q7. Can you cater for a third guest?
Indulgence Divine is meant for the enjoyment of a maximum of two adults who cherish each other enough to appreciate sleeping side by side on a king size bed. We won't spoil that picture however much you protest.
Q8. Is there a view from the roof terrace?
Difficult question in that the word view means different things to different people. The view is that of the medieval street below and the dome of the church peeking from behind the buildings which surround Indulgence Divine. Although Birgu is surrounded by sea, there is no direct view of the sea from our terrace.
Q9. Is there an age limit?
Guests must be older than 21.
Q10. What about accessibility?
For those who have mobility issues, please be aware that Indulgence Divine is on two levels; a 1st and 2nd floor. The 1st floor is the main living area (kitchen, dining, bedroom & bathroom) and is reachable via a flight of stairs. There are no lifts and stone stairs can be uneven.
Q11. How frequently are towels and bed linen changed?
In the case that your stay is longer than a week, our housekeeper visits once per week to clean the bathroom and kitchen and to change the bed linen and provide fresh towels. Two sets of bath and hand towels are provided. You will also find extra sealed towels in the chest box should you require them - there is a minimal token charge for each extra towel (€1) so as to encourage re-use of towels as part of an environmental conservation programme.
Q12. How far is Birgu/Vittoriosa from Valletta and the airport?
Very close. Valletta is a mere 12 minutes away by car (4.4m) or about 10 minutes of gorgeous views of the Grand Harbour by water taxi or ferry. It takes 14 minutes by car from Malta International Airport to Indulgence Divine (4.7m). There is also a regular bus service from Vittoriosa to Valletta. On-street public parking is available close to Indulgence Divine.
Q13. What does Birgu/Vittoriosa offer?
Vittoriosa is also known as Birgu and is the oldest of the Three Cities or Cottonera area. Please refer to our location page for more location information.
Q14. When are payments due & what is your Cancellation Policy?
A booking deposit of 30% of the payment for your stay is payable through our online booking system (uses PayPal) at the moment of booking. The balance of the booking cost must be received by us no later than 30 days before the stay, together with an additional €149 breakage deposit (returnable).

A Maltese house of character
Old Maltese stone houses are full of character and staying in one can be a lovely experience as long as you are prepared for it. The character is in a place's 'imperfections', the uneven stone stairs, the battered stones, as well as in the period features such as the high ceilings, the wooden beams and the architectural flourishes. The beauty is also in its lived in feel. You also need to be aware that certain compromises are in order with the refurbishment of a listed building. If uniformity and the perfect temperature are vital to you, this might not be the right option.
